Position Description

EIP is seeking an Outreach Representative to engage public sector customers in the Los Angeles area, promoting energy efficiency and decarbonization services. This role will focus on two key areas:

1. A major California Natural Gas Utility, Large Public Sector Energy Efficiency Program: Conduct outreach to public sector customers, promote program benefits, coordinate energy assessments, and assist customers in securing financial incentives.
2. EIP Decarbonization Services: Develop relationships with public sector organizations to promote EIP’s GHG decarbonization planning and technical assistance services, supporting proposals and coordinating new project startups.

The ideal candidate is a proactive and customer-focused professional with experience in outreach, account management, and energy efficiency programs, capable of building relationships and driving participation in energy initiatives.

Objectives of this Role

• Increase participation in a California Large Public Sector Energy Efficiency Program through targeted outreach and support.
• Promote EIP’s decarbonization planning and technical services to public sector customers, driving new business opportunities.
• Build long-term relationships with public sector organizations to support their energy efficiency and decarbonization goals.
• Ensure seamless coordination between customers, California utility, and EIP’s technical teams.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, customer interactions, and project progress.

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive outreach to public sector customers, promoting a California natural gas utility energy efficiency program and EIP’s decarbonization services.
• Schedule and coordinate energy assessments, ensuring timely delivery of services.
• Assist customers in navigating incentive application processes, ensuring compliance with program requirements.
• Identify opportunities for EIP’s decarbonization planning services, supporting proposal development and customer engagement.
• Coordinate startup activities for new decarbonization projects, ensuring clear communication and alignment with customer goals.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including facility managers, sustainability officers, and government representatives.
• Attend conferences, trade shows, and other public venues to understand the California market, build connections, and promote EIP’s services.
• Track outreach activities and project milestones using CRM tools such as HubSpot.
• Collaborate with EIP’s program managers, engineers, and marketing team to support customer engagement and project success.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Environmental Science, Sustainability or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience:
  • 3 years of experience in outreach, account management, or customer engagement.
  • Experience working with public sector customers, utilities, or energy efficiency programs.
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency incentives and decarbonization planning is preferred.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
• Organization & Coordination: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools such as HubSpot.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience promoting utility energy efficiency programs or working with public sector customers.
• Knowledge of energy efficiency technologies, building systems, and sustainability best practices.
• Familiarity with the California energy market and local government sustainability initiatives.
