The Axel Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our client’s team out of Prince George’s County, Maryland. For over 90 years, this employee-owned firm has earned its reputation by consistently delivering successful infrastructure projects in and around our Nation’s Capital. The ideal candidate has 2 years of experience working as a Project Engineer, at a General Contractor or Construction Management firm. They should also have worked on projects including :
Pump stations
Water treatment plants
Municipal and federal infrastructure projects
Processing facilities
Responsibilities :
Develop complete understanding of contract plans and specifications for portion of work assigned.
Examine / inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures that arise or that may be encountered.
Take corrective actions as needed.
Inspect subordinates’ work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies, and explain / take any corrective actions as needed.
Manage RFI’s, change orders, and weekly updates.
Manage document control; receive and log in new issue drawings and other contract documents.
Review new issue drawings and contract documents for change of conditions; quantify impact of changes and review with supervisor; distribute new issues to the field.
Act as managing project engineer / coordinator on project.
Read and understand plans and specifications.
Coordinate project completion with other disciplines.
Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or related field.
2 years of experience working as a Project Engineer (dealing with RFI’s, Submittals, Change Orders, etc.).
Experience working on projects including pump stations, water treatment plants, municipal and federal infrastructure projects, and processing facilities.
