Position : Technical Writer
Location : Hanover, MD (Hybrid - 2 days in office)
Compensation : $70-90k base, quarterly and year-end bonuses
Type : Permanent
Must-Haves :
3 years of technical writing experience
Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent additional years of working experience)
Experience with DITA XML and component content management systems (CCMS)
Plusses :
Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Communication, English, or Computer Science
Experience with Tridion (CCMS)
Experience in the material handling or warehouse industry
Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
Job Description :
An employer is looking for a Technical Writer in the Hanover, MD area. This individual will be joining the technical communication and documentation team responsible for training customers on their products. This individual will be on the team responsible for creating the material utilized in these trainings.
This role will :
Create and edit structured content using topic-based authoring skills that's high-quality, consistent, and re-usable.
Work with project managers to deliver documentation on schedule.
Research technologies, interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and learn about products to effectively communicate that information to customers through the appropriate content.
Collect and analyze technical documents (drawings, schematics, etc.) for re-use.
Take and edit photos, illustrations, and other graphics as needed for technical content.
Ensure consistency and adherence to documentation standards and guidelines across all materials.
Keep a pulse on the job market with advanced job matching technology.
