If you’re passionate about kitchen repair (hot and cold side) and want to work for a company that values family, happiness, and work-life balance over corporate headaches, you’ve found your home!
What You’ll Do
- Focus heavily on commercial kitchen repair: service and maintain hot side equipment (electric and gas cooking, frying, etc.) and cold side systems (reach-in/walk-in refrigeration, ice machines, ice cream machines, etc.) in diverse settings.
- Tackle residential HVAC units, including heat pumps, gas furnaces, and air conditioning systems in clients’ homes.
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems, including full replacements in crawlspaces, attics, and rooftops.
- Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and electrical components, calibrating systems to manufacturer recommendations.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems, handle light plumbing, and perform general maintenance tasks (e.g., changing lightbulbs, painting, washing company vehicles).
- Work in exposed elements—rooftops, ladders, and all weather conditions—with availability for nights or weekends on a rotating basis to meet emergency needs.
- Travel to job sites within the service area, coordinating with our small team to maintain schedules and keep clients happy.
- Maintain company vehicle, equipment, electronics, and stock (parts, tools, safety equipment) to the highest standards.
- Document all service details electronically (via iPad or similar device), ensuring clear communication with clients.
- Identify opportunities for additional business (e.g., new systems, preventive maintenance contracts).
- Participate in paid training and ongoing development to grow your skills with our support.
- 4 years of field experience in light commercial HVAC and refrigeration, with strong expertise in commercial kitchen repair (hot and cold side) and residential HVAC (heat pumps, gas furnaces, air conditioning units).
- EPA Refrigeration Card (required).
- Clean background check and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites (homes, hospitals, schools, commercial buildings, gas stations, restaurants).
- Skilled in electrical troubleshooting and light plumbing, with a knack for diagnostics and repairs.
- Physically capable of lifting 65 lbs, working on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces like attics and crawlspaces.
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions, often independently, with remote support from our family team.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills—use common sense and diagnostic tools to deliver quality repairs.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage paperwork, electronic documentation, and client relationships.
- Motivated, reliable, and committed to maintaining company equipment while treating clients like family.
- Basic safety training (e.g., OSHA 10-hour certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
- Knowledge of local and HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical codes (e.g., ASHRAE, NEC).
- Ability to provide and maintain a basic set of hand tools and diagnostic equipment (company may provide specialized tools).
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and certification updates (e.g., refrigerant handling, electrical safety).
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Competitive pay: $25–$40/hour, based on experience—above regional averages for your expertise.
- Join a small family business—no corporate red tape, just a team that values family, happiness, and doing things the right way.
- Full-time role with a focus on work-life balance and opportunities to grow with a company that cares about you.
- Company vehicle provided to hit the road with confidence.
- Dispatched from home daily—start and end your day from the comfort of home (travel time considered).
- Paid training and ongoing development to support your career journey.
- Hands-on work in a dynamic environment—specialize in kitchen repair while tackling diverse challenges across residential and commercial settings.
