Job Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for wiring, assembling, and troubleshooting electrical components used in manufactured products. This role requires expertise in reading schematics, working with various electrical systems, and ensuring all wiring and components meet industry standards. The Electrical Technician plays a key role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and reliability of our custom-built products.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Assembly & Installation
Due to the dynamic nature of our production process, all employees are expected to be flexible in their work assignments. If there is a temporary shortage of work in your primary department or craft, you may be assigned to assist in other departments or perform tasks outside your usual scope of work. Refusal to accept such assignments may result in being sent home without pay for that period. This ensures continuous workflow and supports overall company productivity.

Key Responsibilities
Electrical Assembly & Installation
- Install and wire electrical components, including motors, control panels, sensors, and other electrical devices used in systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate wiring and installation.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems to verify proper function.
- Ensure compliance with UL, ETL, Electrical Code (NEC) and company-specific standards.
- Diagnose and repair electrical issues related to system components.
- Work with engineering and production teams to identify and resolve system malfunctions.
- Test electrical circuits, components, and wiring using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools.
- Conduct quality checks on all electrical assemblies to ensure proper functionality.
- Follow safety protocols, including proper grounding, insulation, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including proper PPE usage and machine operation protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards.
- Work closely with mechanical technicians, fabricators, and engineers to integrate electrical components into systems.
- Provide feedback on wiring designs and suggest improvements for efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain accurate documentation of wiring schematics, modifications, and testing results.
- Accurately and consistently use the company's ERP system to document work time, inventory usage, job progress, and any other required information in a timely manner.
- Wiring Accuracy: Achieve a 98% first-time pass rate on electrical wiring quality checks.
- Troubleshooting: Resolve electrical issues within a timely manner to minimize delays.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain zero electrical safety violations, including proper use of PPE and adherence to LOTO procedures.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical assembly, wiring, or troubleshooting, preferably in a manufacturing or HVAC setting.
- Certifications: Electrical certifications (such as an Electrical Technician Certificate or Journeyman License) are a plus.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in wiring low-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Experience using electrical testing tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail:
- Ability to diagnose and fix electrical problems quickly and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate wiring and connections.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in the HVAC industry or working with control systems.
- Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation.
- Knowledge of UL, ETL, NEC and other relevant electrical codes.
