Airswift is looking for a Pipeline Compression Engineer to work for a major LNG client in Houston, TX, for an initial 6-month assignment likely to be extended.
The Pipeline and Compression Engineer is responsible for the design of the pipeline and compression facilities. They will work closely with the engineering contractors to ensure the delivery of the scope to regulations, standards and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Aids in the engineering of the compressor station(s), measurement stations, and pipeline assets and oversees the subject matter experts (SME) including consultants and contractors to ensure the accurate and conforming design of the stations in accordance with the prevailing rules and regulations.
- In coordination with the pipeline engineering teams, the ideal candidate ensures that design meets the overall gas deliverability expectations, and that the compressor and meter station(s) deliver and integrate the latest technologies to deliver industry leading performance.
- Support the Detail Design, Procurement, applicable Process Safety Management best practices and HAZOPs for the projects. Ensure that local compressor station operations and safety professionals are included in the process design to ensure a well understood, and integrated review process.
- Develops a program to successfully integrate technical skills and capabilities into project execution and operations & maintenance activities to ensure project execution is efficient and fit for purpose. Ensures that resources meet the highest levels of design proficiency, and safety performance and operating efficiency, and that their work performance complies with the latest applicable technical and regulatory standards.
- Activities include reviewing and approving design, supporting construction, witnessing testing of the operating equipment; ensuring that standards of quality, cost, safety, and reliability are met and interprets the design plans, drawings and specifications.
- Provide support to field operations to resolve technical problems related to measurement, including accuracy, repeatability, balancing, witnessing, auditing, and routine or annual verifications.
- perform a broad range of engineering, operational and analytical duties required for the accurate measurement and control of gas on company pipeline and midstream assets.
- Direct engineering support services through the application of engineering expertise, problem solving, and good working knowledge of related engineering projects.
- Ensure coordination with key stakeholders including Commercial, Operations, other Engineering disciplines, Right-of-Way, and contractors assuring all project work is performed in a timely manner, with minimal disruption
- Communicate the status of developmental activities to business sponsors using written and verbal communications
- Working with Operations, EHS, Project Management, Business Development, Gas Control, and other internal departments to maintain and improve the integrity of the company’s infrastructure by monitoring, completing studies and reviews, assessing risk / benefit of new technology, generating recommendations for and developing projects, etc. as required to achieve the task.
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, control, and instrumentation drawings.
- Provide engineering support and technical expertise to support mechanical equipment operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 15 years experience in pipeline projects
