A Principal Signal Processing and System Design Engineer is a versatile Electrical/Electronic Hardware Engineer that integrates electrical, mechanical, optics, software, and their associated manufacturing methods into our product designs and manufacturing processes. This includes the design of components used in optical and magnetic encoders, the implementation of microelectronics, and the overall electrical design architecture. The ideal Principal Signal and Systems Design Engineer has extensive knowledge in hardware and embedded software product design as well as experience with ASICs, FPGAs, smart sensors, optical devices, and real-time industrial communication busses.

Job Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing and updating digital and analog electrical hardware systems
- Improving digital and analog signal processing to increase speed, accuracy, SNR, and resolution
- Understanding of EMC/EMI/ESD standards
- Integrating embedded systems using a variety of protocols
- Researching electrical hardware technologies to benefit our product offering
- Providing competitive analysis of technical aspects of competitor’s offerings
- Supporting and/or creating new product designs
- Developing and executing project scopes, cost estimates, feasibility, and schedules
- Managing architecture of electrical products
- Solving complex or difficult electronic or signal problems
- Working with customer to define products and specifications requirements
- Other engineering duties as assigned
Skills:
- Knowledge of signal processing concepts, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of Instruments LabVIEW software
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks software
- Knowledge of all Compliance, Standards, and Certifications
- Ability to understand, update and create controlled engineering drawings
- Ability to provide technical support for designed electrical hardware
- Ability to develop, review, analyze, and interpret various reports utilizing spreadsheets, databases, presentations, reports, charts, and graphs
- Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing to explain complex signaling systems; technical writing a plus
- Ability to work professionally in a team environment and with other departmental teams and all levels of employees
- Must be able to work independently with minimal direction and oversight
- Goal oriented individual that demonstrates innovation and persistence to meet schedules
- High ethical standards
- High attention to detail
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering, math, or physics required. Master's degree a plus
- Additional skills in integral calculus, differential calculus, and 3-D geometry required
- Proficiency in programming such as C required
- Minimum of 5 years of product development from concept to production required with a proven track record for developing and delivering complete solutions
- Experience with hardware digital design, analog design, firmware design, low power design, sensor technologies/interfaces, communications and interfaces required (Ethernet based knowledge most desirable)
- Experience with embedded systems designs, microcontroller firmware and FPGA’s required
- Experience with PCB design and layout required
- Experience in motion control industrial
- Full-time with benefits
- Salary range $100,000-145,000 or DOE
- Able to travel domestically and abroad
- Willing to relocate to North Idaho

Salary : $100,000 - $145,000
