System Family Manager
The HVAC and Engine Systems (PHES) System Family Manager (SFM, formerly known as a SSTM or PR) is the PHES interface for a vehicle program supporting the Project Chief Vehicle Engineer (PCVE). The responsibilities include management for all integration activities and interface for all issues (cost, timing, program planning, launch support, program resolution, etc.). This SFM will have overall responsibility for the serial life and future programs.
The SFM will need to develop program timeline integrating tasks and milestones into vehicle timeline and assess and communicate program to plan milestones and escalate as required. They will maintain DI scorecards, Design Assessments, PSK decks and lead ER&D roll-up process with support from Propulsion System and Vehicle ERD analysis team and Propulsion System functional areas to develop and maintain the PHES specific cost assessments to be included in the PRS rollups.
The candidate will support and present current roll-up in director cost review and coordinate with Propulsion System Finance, Propulsion System Platform Teams, and cost engineering to develop and maintain component piece cost, tooling cost, and tracking documents. They will support use of the Cost Service Tool and post-program approval, facilitate cost offset response with the affected release engineers. The candidate will lead and develop the PHES specific partial spend estimates with support from PHES functional areas (fuels, HVAC, PT cooling, exhaust, and AIS). They communicate PHES specific functional objectives (e.g. HVAC performance, induction restriction, exhaust backpressure, etc.) between vehicle and powertrain teams as well as objectives owned by PCVE and Vehicle Synthesis. The candidate will lead PHES specific PC deck content and prepare material, Propulsion System leadership review (GPOM: Global Propulsion System Operations Meeting and/or distribution), support pre-reviews, represent and present at GPC reviews on behalf of the PHES organization.
The Role Would Be As Follows
SFM for PHES for Body on Frame applications
Support serial life programs
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Applied Physics, Aerospace, or Computer Engineering, or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university
8 years design, development, and program management experience in product development functions/vehicle engineering
Recommended experience in HVAC and ENG SYS commodities
Must exhibit high leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
DFSS Green Belt or Black Belt certification is recommended
Proficient in MS Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.)
Capable of representing the PHES organization as the single point for the program vehicles to which they are assigned.
Driving a Client vehicle is required
Onsite at CTC – anywhere from 3-5 days per week
