Glosten, Inc. is seeking a full-time to join our Ocean Engineering and Analysis Group in Seattle, WA or Providence, RI. We are a full-service naval architecture and marine engineering firm with a reputation for innovation, exceptional client service, and groundbreaking projects. As a senior engineer in the Ocean Engineering and Analysis Group, will be responsible for providing the primary technical effort for projects involving ship design, civil structures, marine construction support, offshore energy platforms, offshore floating wind turbines, and wave energy conversion devices. This includes climatological analysis, calculation of hydrodynamic motions and loads on floating structures, mooring system design and analysis, hydro-elastic analysis, and using finite element, potential flow, and CFD analysis methods.
You will be further responsible for wide-ranging data analysis projects employing probabilistic methods, and synthesis of large datasets, and optimization of complex systems. Applications include fleet planning and logistics, risk assessment, and development and validation of numerical models.
You will be integral to the continual improvement and growth of the Ocean Engineering and Analysis group. The ideal candidate has a passion for mentoring less experienced colleagues, understands the importance of documenting processes, and has experience building tools to improve the quality and efficiency of their workflows. The ideal candidate has an interest and demonstrated experience in fostering and building new client relationships.

- Minimum ten (10) years of work experience in the disciplines of hydrodynamics, climatology, mooring analysis, offshore operations, ship design and/or offshore platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to apply fundamental engineering principles to problem solving, development of analytical approaches, and development of novel design concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate, select, and apply standards, techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Demonstrated ability in global performance modeling of ships or offshore structures.
- Experience managing including preparing proposals, engaging in client communications, leading engineering teams, assigning tasks, providing technical oversight, managing scope and budget, and scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated application of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent time management, planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
- Familiarity with Rhino, WAMIT, OrcaFlex, Python, and Microsoft Office software packages.
- Experience and interest in field trials, model testing, and validation of numerical models.
- General knowledge of marine vessel systems, computational methods, and design processes.
- Familiarity and interest in fleet planning and logistics.
