We're currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Lab Technician in our Aquatic Toxicology lab.
Job Description:
As a Lab Technician in our Aquatic Toxicology lab, you will play a vital role in conducting Whole Effluent Toxicity Testing (WET) using organisms such as the Fathead Minnow, Ceriodaphnia dubia, and Daphnia magna. Your responsibilities will include:
- Culturing and maintenance of test organisms
- Receiving samples and preparing them for testing
- Test setup, daily monitoring, and test completion
- Data interpretation and reporting
- NPDES Permits management
- Test scheduling and client communication
- Operating laboratory equipment and LIMS program
- Adhering to strict lab protocols and quality assurance standards
- Collaborating effectively with team members
- Potentially serving as a backup analyst for other analyses
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Microbiology preferred but not required
- Experience in a laboratory setting is a plus
- Aptitude to operate laboratory equipment and computer systems
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication skills for client interactions
- Dependable and self-motivated
- Ability to work weekends and holidays
