Position: Sample Receiving Technician

Position Overview:
We are seeking a Sample Receiving Technician to join our Helena, Montana, team. This role is essential in ensuring accurate sample processing and excellent customer service. As the first point of contact for clients, you will handle incoming environmental samples, log them into our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and coordinate with analysts to ensure proper testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and log environmental samples into the LIMS
- Provide customer service in person and over the phone
- Interpret client requests and document required analyses
- Accurately label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate departments
- Work closely with laboratory analysts to ensure proper testing procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow established safety and quality control protocols
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in computer applications and data entry
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Preferred but not required: Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, or prior experience in an environmental laboratory
