Work with great people earning great money while contributing to clean energy!!Join the Energy Northwest team as we complete our 27th refueling outage at Columbia Generating Station.Scheduled Duration : 56 DaysOutage Start Date : April 11, 2025Hire Dates : March 3-31, 2025, unless otherwise specifiedWork Hour During Outage : Generally, six 12-hour shifts per week (straight nights or straight days)Overtime : Significant overtime pay, often with 20 hours per week paid at double (2x) the hourly rate of payIncome Taxes : Washington does not have state income taxesUnemployment : Washington unemployment benefits are generally available following the end of assignmentGENERAL SUMMARYThis is a temporary position supporting the plant’s biennial refueling outage.Responsible for installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and associated testing devices related to operation of large nuclear generation plants.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESIndependently perform electrical maintenance; troubleshoot and repair failures associated with electrical switchgear, rotating machinery, relays, controls, power plant meters, and associated wiring used to control operation of installed motor-driven pumps, valves, cranes, elevators, etc.Perform surveillance tests on critical emergency power systems, both battery and diesel generated.Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on installed electrical equipment.Perform installation work on modifications assigned to plant forces.Perform other tasks as required.REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEJourneyman classification requires four years of applicable electrical maintenance experience achieved through successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship program;OR two-year trade school or the equivalent such as military training;OR an Associate’s degree in the electrical field from an accredited college or university, plus two years of related experience. Experience shall be in maintenance of industrial electrical switchgear, relays, controls, motors, generators, etc. A high school diploma or GED is required.(For outage work only) At least five years applicable experience. Experience is applicable if it has been in the maintenance of equipment such as electrical switchgear and components, rotating machinery, relays, controls, power plant meters, and associated wiring to control operation of installed motor-driven pumps, valves, cranes, elevators, or other similar equipment.
