General Summary
This is an approved Work Based Learning partnership with the Tri-Cities Area Educational Cooperative, which includes the Burbank, Finely, Kennewick, Kiona, Benton, North Franklin, Pasco, and Richland School Districts. Applicants must be enrolled in one of these high schools during the 2025/2026 school year to be eligible.
This position will be located at Energy Northwest's Columbia Generating Station at 76 North Power Plant Loop in Richland, Washington. If you are not able to drive yourself to work, you can carpool with another employee.
Under general supervision and acting on own initiative the work-based learning student (WBL) performs (provides) general clerical/administrative support, such as data entry, scheduling, maintaining file systems, computer work (using Microsoft Office and Workday), receiving, processing, distributing, controlling, and retrieving records and documents, operation of reproduction and copy equipment, and other duties required by the staff.
Principal Accountabilities
Must be eligible to enroll in a High School Work Based Learning Program and maintain that status for the duration of their employment in this role.

Hourly Pay Rate
$16.66
Hourly rate aligns to minimum wage. There is no pay range for this position.

Temporary employees may be required to participate in the Washington State Pension Plan (PERS) and may also be eligible to enroll in medical insurance if the duration and hours worked requirements are met. Temporary employees accrue paid time off that is available to use after 90 days of employment.

Principal Accountabilities
- Perform basic clerical/administrative duties. Function as a core resource to the designated department exhibiting flexibility and openness to change. Exercise discretion and independent judgment, analyze information requests and determine trends and conflicting demands, and make recommendations to management.
- Obtain, analyze and act upon feedback from customers/suppliers to enhance communication among the organization.
- Demonstrates interpersonal relationship skills to Identify critical and urgent issues.
- Analyze options, alternatives and solutions to impending issues and concerns in a timely and specific manner to maximize management’s awareness.
- Function as a proactive team player. Plan and participate in combined organization workshops to promote team building, core values and communications.
- Basic knowledge of company operations, organization procedures and personnel. Within established guidelines makes independent decisions regarding planning, organizing and scheduling work.
- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of management, company employees, suppliers and customers using our core values as a guide.
- May act as a coordinator for special projects.
