Job Summary
As a High Voltage/Commissioning Manager, you will be crucial in ensuring the successful execution of high voltage (HV) and commissioning activities for utility-scale energy projects. Your responsibilities will encompass compliance oversight, planning, safety management, quality control, and coordination with various stakeholders. By effectively managing these critical aspects, you will contribute to HV system's reliable and efficient operation.

Job Responsibilities
HV and Commissioning Compliance
- Ensure that HV and commissioning activities align with the defined HV scope elements and meet Contract Commissioning Requirements and the Contractor Commissioning Plan.
- Review and validate the HV execution and commissioning work plans, including means and methods, schedules, safety protocols, environmental measures, and quality control procedures.
- Continually monitor activities for contract compliance and ensure documentation and quality standards are upheld.
- Maintain up-to-date calibration records for tools and equipment used in HV and commissioning activities.
System Reliability Checks
- Oversee and ensure that the EPC contractor conducts system reliability checks for MET Stations (Meteorological Stations) and the SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.
- Conduct quality inspections at various stages of construction, with a particular focus on HV facilities and their interconnection to the utility (POCO).
Progress Tracking and Reporting
- Monitor and review the contractor's onsite commissioning progress and production tracking.
- Oversee project commissioning completion milestone progress and ensure deliverables are met on schedule.
- Notify the Project Manager (PM) promptly of any HV or Commissioning items that are out of compliance or not functioning as intended.
- Meet with Client/Partner at weekly/monthly meetings and EPC to discuss and resolve field operation activities and changes, quality, or additional issues and concerns.
Safety and Commissioning
- Ensure that a Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) program is implemented effectively.
- Participate in daily commissioning meetings across all disciplines.
- Coordinate and provide onsite tours to stakeholders.
Utility Coordination
- Collaborate with interconnecting utility representatives to facilitate the successful interconnection of HV transmission systems with onsite substations and the POCO.
- Manage logistics and coordination for the delivery and installation of main Power Transformers, ensuring seamless integration.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with construction, commissioning, and engineering teams throughout the commissioning process to ensure a unified approach.
- Engage with management regularly, reporting on project status, activity, and achievements.
Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., electrical engineering, renewable energy, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in high-voltage systems and commissioning management, particularly within the renewable energy or utility sectors.
- Strong understanding of HV systems, commissioning processes, and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in collaboration practices for tools and equipment.
- Excellent project management and coordination skills.
- Ability to conduct quality inspections and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Adobe.
- Safety trained for field work (OSHA 30).
- Detailed and process-oriented.
- Ability to work independently and make informed decisions.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and priorities.
