Position Summary:
As a Commercial Roofing Estimator Intern, you’ll work closely with our estimating team to assist in the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates for commercial roofing jobs. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain real-world experience in project planning, budgeting, and client communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with takeoffs, measurements, and quantity calculations from architectural drawings and specifications
- Support the preparation of bid proposals and cost estimates
- Visit job sites with senior estimators to gather information and better understand project scopes
- Maintain and update bid tracking systems and project databases
- Research pricing for materials, equipment, and labor
- Collaborate with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors
- Learn about various commercial roofing systems, including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, and more
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Comfortable working with blueprints and construction documents
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam) is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and take initiative in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel to job sites (may be required)
