This position is responsible for the oversight, governance, planning and execution of the project’s waste program and processes, coordination with project leadership and successful delivery of the LLRW subcontract.
- Ensure safety culture is visible, fully participated, prioritized and behaviorally embraced by the project’s waste group
- Function as a Waste Project Manager primarily and delegate SME technical duties to the Radioactive Waste Supervisor
- Direct the generation of project waste that meets NRC, DOT, State and Disposal facility waste acceptance criteria
- Coordinate with project controls the logic tied waste scheduling activities
- Establish annual waste forecasts based on waste generation curves from the P6 schedule
- Develop and present reports demonstrating schedule and cost performance of the LLRW subcontract
- Develop as necessary and implement corporate waste strategies for the packaging, transportation and disposition of all project wastes
- Perform routine assessments of the project’s waste staff and processes, implement corrective actions and create documentation of OE/LL
- Coordinate function area integration with CFAMs, and project key leadership to affect safety and efficient waste operations
- Participate in peer to peer development and information sharing efforts with the Waste CFAM and LLRW Subcontracts Director
- Review and approve the Governing Waste Program and implemented procedures in accordance with corporate and project requirements
- Participate in routine project specific planning meetings to maintain a waste focus on the decommissioning process
- Coordinate routine information sharing with EnergySolutions Waste Management group perform subcontracted services
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements/Skills
- Working knowledge regarding the use of shipping software
- Detailed Knowledge of applicable Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), NRC and DOT regulations
- Familiarity with Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Defense (DOD) and/or commercial utility waste streams
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Minimum Education, Experience and Certification Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience
Certifications
- PMP preferred
Required Experience
- A minimum of 10 years experience in waste management
- A minimum of 5 years experience in leadership role
- Previous project management experience
Preferred Experience
15 years waste management experience
