Seeking Journeyman Electrician / Experienced Electrician
Job Description
Energy Systems Southeast, LLC (ESSE), the Industrial Distribution Center for Generac Power Systems, is currently searching for Electrician based out of our Birmingham office, would consider other locations in the Southeast.
We currently have a project that consists of installing generators & transfer switches for cell tower sites, various commercial jobs, and electrical service work. We are looking for self-motivated lead electrician with a strong work ethic to join our team here at ESSE in Birmingham.
Primary Job Responsibilities and Skills:
- Understanding and ability to perform maintenance/installation of electrical components within commercial properties and wireless cell sites which involves cabinet sets, main distribution panels (200 amp to 2000 amps ) disconnects, meter pedestals/cans, transformers, emergency generators, manual transfer switches, automatic transfer switches, etc.
- Be able to manage job or possible multiple jobs from start to completion.
- Ability to find and evaluate possible crew members.
- Work on and understand single phase and three phase. (120/240, 120/240 Delta, 120/208 Y, 277/480)
- Read and accurately interpret construction electrical drawings.
- Assist/perform civil work including grounding, trenching, and conduit installation, prior excavating equipment operating a plus.
- Operate test equipment such as voltmeters, meg tester, amp meters, and high potential test equipment.
- Understanding and compliance with company and government operating plans and procedures.
- National Electric Code (NEC), OSHA, DOT, etc.
- Organize materials and tools to maintain clean and neat work areas.
- Adhere to and promote the environmental, health & safety policies.
- Be able to work alongside the people assigned to your team.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Train and mentor your team.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Candidate must have a minimum 3 years of electrical experience.
- Must have a clean driver's license and be insurable. CDL is not required, but is preferred.
- Drug-Free Workplace: Must be able to pass a drug test upon hiring and any time during employment (sporadic drug testing with a zero-tolerance policy).
- Strong work ethic required: initiative, tenacity & enjoys a challenge.
- Journeyman electricians license or the experience, knowledge, and ability to perform Journeyman electrician tasks.
- Knowledge of NEC, electricity, voltage and current relationships for both AC and DC circuits
- Have working experience of all electrical systems: single phase, three phase, control circuits, and all aspects of electrical distribution.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have reliable transportation.
- Travel is required throughout Southeast. When traveling, the company provides hotel, vehicle and meals.
- Must have basic to average proficiency with Microsoft Office products to include Outlook, and Internet-based programs.
