Summary:
The Risk Analyst supports various trade desks at Energy Transfer by performing business analytics and measuring exposure to commodity prices. There is opportunity to Interact with traders and senior management- assuring that pricing, hedging, and risk evaluation techniques are applied and monitored.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor, measure, and report market price risks on a daily basis relating to price-exposure from company assets and long-term contracts, wholesale physical energy transactions, inventory, and financial derivatives
- Determine market-price risk positions and work with trade desks to minimize exposure
- Validate end-of-day curves in the risk system and mark-to-market of forward positions
- Analyze and identify P&L and position drivers of various trading books encompassing a wide array of energy commodities and financial instruments
- Identifies and resolves issues on daily position and P&L reporting
- Communicate and resolve risk limit breaches appropriately
- Support requests from internal and external auditors
- Maintain margin requirements with clearing banks
- Work closely with I.T. on risk system (ETRM) improvements and testing new enhancements
- Ensure exchange (ICE & CME) and regulatory (CFTC & FERC) compliance
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, mathematics, accounting or related field
- 2-5 years of related experience
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision
- Strong interpersonal communication ability

- Usually, normal office working conditions.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
