SEC Energy is a single-source provider of natural gas compression equipment, parts and services to all segments of the oil & gas industry. From 50 to 10,000 horsepower, gas, electric or dual drive, SEC is capable of designing and fabricating equipment to meet each customer’s specific operating requirements. SEC also provides production, processing, and treating equipment, and an expansive network of warehouses that service locations across the United States. SEC capabilities expand beyond tradition manufacturing to further include turnkey engineering services, truck-based service technicians, manufacturer parts, and power generation equipment.

Summary:

Manages Warranty dept functions and projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential job duties for this position are listed below:

  • Serve as the face of SEC for Product Related Issues, Complaints, and Customer concerns
  • Travel to customer location if necessary to review issues/complaints with product (company vehicle provided)
  • Work with Commissioning/Warranty Field Technicians to investigate issues, gather data and evidence, to determine root cause of issues/defects
  • Manage all SEC Product Warranty Projects, working with Engineering/Design to create a solutions, and Field Services managers to execute corrective action.
  • Analyze warranty data and communicate with cross functional teams to make data driven decisions
  • Manage Warranty Incident Reporting (WIR) System to open, close, and track warranty project information.
  • Continuous process improvement to reduce warranty claims in line to meet business objectives
  • Day to day management of team members who are direct reports to Warranty Manger to meet committed departmental objectives and deliverables
  • Read and understand Customer MSAs and advise on items that affect warranty for services rendered
  • Manage/Supervise day-to-day field operations to meet customer requirements
  • Monitors utilization and drives efficiency and productivity to minimize problems and downtime.
  • Administers performance reviews for subordinates.
  • Maintains adherence to company policies.
  • Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
  • Performs other functions/duties as required.
  • Conduct duties in an ethical manner, and model ethics and compliance behaviors for others. Encourage open, transparent, factual, and respectful communication
  • Establish a culture of safety, operational, and customer service excellence within the organization
  • Ensure all health, safety, environmental, and human resources requirements are met to comply with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Lead the respective business function in acting entrepreneurially to drive ingenuity, best practices, and best in class efficiency
  • Coach, mentor, train and develop employees as required for the long-term sustainability of the business and to ensure appropriate succession planning. Establish or source appropriate training as needed to ensure the quality of the work being performed
  • Establish customer and shareholder-driven financial, safety, and operational excellence goals such as for earnings, quality, and cycle time/on-time performance. Measure and monitor progress, making corrections in the respective functional area organization and processes as necessary to achieve business targets
  • Establish, document, maintain, train employees on, update, and reinforce use of practical, safe, and efficient work processes that allow the business to maintain the flexibility to meet the dynamic needs of customer base.


Requirements:

Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years natural gas compression industry experience. In-depth knowledge of natural gas engine and compressor frames.
  • Caterpillar and Ariel Certification preferred.
  • Previous customer-facing management experience preferred.
  • Software Knowledge: SAP, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), Adobe. Ability to learn other software in use.
  • Ability to manage field services area and successfully lead direct reports to increase efficiency, production quality and volume. Able to apply principles and techniques to accomplish goals.
  • Ability to plan and oversee Warranty projects for engines, compressors, & all other compressor package and production equipment components
  • Demonstrated communication (both written and verbal) skills
  • Ability to create and maintain on-going relationships with customers and other external parties to develop business for the area.
  • Ability to communicate and resolve issues in a professional and tactful manner
  • Ability to handle both internal and external problems and facilitate successful outcomes.
  • Performs other functions/duties as required to meet customer and company requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of management experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Microsoft Project

Working Conditions:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

  • Driving, walking, and standing frequently
  • Exposure to adverse weather, cramped conditions, and some heavy lifting
  • Visits to industrial/manufacturing settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment
  • Occasional overnight travel will be required
