Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Prior Authorization Specialist to join our Ordering Team.
As a Prior Authorization Specialist, you will be responsible for managing authorization requests specific to the DEEOIC program. This role requires excellent communication, research, and writing skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process prior authorization requests for DME in accordance with DOL DEEOIC guidelines.
- Research medical conditions and how they relate to different equipment requests.
- Write Letters of Medical Necessity (LMNs), justifications, and other supporting documentation relating to the patient's need for equipment.
- Communicate with DOL claims examiners, physicians, and nurse case managers to facilitate approvals.
- Track authorization requests, follow up on pending cases, and appeal denials when necessary.
- Maintain compliance with DOL regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and internal company policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including billing and customer service, to ensure seamless equipment delivery.
Training will be provided!
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and effectively
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
