Waste Management Specialist

Job Description / Tasks / Responsibilities

• Interprets waste management and transportation rules, regulations and policies in the proper compliant management of facility waste, including low level and transuranic waste (TRU), hazardous waste.
• Teams and interfaces with treatment, storage, disposal, generators and / or other customers and regulators to resolved specific waste management related concerns.
• Reviews existing procedures and prepares revisions and checklist updates to incorporate regulatory requirements and changes as well as customer driven revisions.
• Serves as the primary Shipper / Broker for the Erwin Resin Solutions
• Responsible for all rad shipments and inspects incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
• Prepares containers for shipment including manifests, labeling, marking and inspection of packages and conducts receipt surveys and document review for incoming shipments.
• Coordinates shipments with generators, disposal sites and transportation.
• Works under general supervision.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
