A Nuclear Millwright is a highly skilled professional responsible for fabricating, installing, and maintaining machinery and equipment within a nuclear facility. This role involves working from field sketches, shop drawings, and blueprints to ensure precise and reliable operation of critical systems. The position requires a deep understanding of mechanical systems, precision measurement, and safety protocols. Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including meeting fitness for duty requirements.

- Perform all job duties safely according to job requirements.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of hand tools.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of basic measuring devices.
- Lubricate equipment, machinery, or components per manufacturer’s specifications.
- Demonstrate proper selection and use of mechanical fasteners.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of portable power tools.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of stationary power equipment for machinery.
- Fabricate items from field sketches and shop drawings.
- Create accurate field sketches.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of precision measuring tools.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints.
- Perform detailed layout work.
- Establish equipment or machinery center lines and elevations.
- Perform precision installation of equipment, machinery, or components, including anchoring, leveling, and aligning.
- Maintain a clean work area and ensure good housekeeping.
- Perform cleanup duties.
- Perform craft-related math.
- Demonstrate proper use and care of oxygen and acetylene equipment.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of experience.
- Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired.
- Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements.
- Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools.
- Availability for shift work, if needed.
- Ability to support other crafts as requested.
- Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels).
- Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures.
- Ability to pass specific training and qualifications.
- Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening.
