- Oversees daily activities of workers engaged in processing waste streams or in process support activities.
- Leads shift activities, resource utilization and work schedules to maximize efficiency and reach daily production goals.
- Communicates daily safety, quality and procedural issues with the work team.
- Ensures adherence to company policies, guidelines and safety/operations procedures.
- Communicates employee suggestions, concerns and problems to upper management and/or human resources and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals and increase job satisfaction.
- Reads production pick list and implements processing to those instructions.
- Reports minor equipment problems early to avoid significant failures.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
- Trains new team members and assures that longer-term employees reach and maintain qualifications.
- Works with supervisors to address performance issues formally and makes disciplinary action recommendations when warranted.
- Maintains time and production records as required.
- Completes quarterly performance reviews with all members of their team and drafts annual performance evaluations for review and approval by supervisor.
- Performs activities of workers supervised.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Good general knowledge of processes and procedures to perform work safely
- Demonstrated ability to train others to perform tasks safely and efficiently
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to pass a pre-employment/hazwoper physical
- Ability to withstand high work environment temperatures
- Ability to wear a respirator and meet all other Rad Worker 2 qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Successful completion of General Employee Training (GET) or General Employee Radiological Training (GERT)
- Forklift and crane operating certifications
- DOE Certified Rad Worker II and respirator qualified
- Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Qualified/confined space qualified preferred
- Monitor qualified and 40 hour Hazwoper certification
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in waste processing, remediation or waste management
- Minimum of 1 year previous leadership experience
