A nuclear scaffold builder is responsible for safely fabricating and installing scaffolding. Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including meeting fitness for duty requirements.

- Perform all job duties safely according to job requirements.
- Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies using proper lifting techniques.
- Demonstrate proper use of tools, including non-power hand tools.
- Perform detailed layout and maintain a clean work area.
- Identify and use carpentry tools.
- Climb vertical ladders and work above/below ground as necessary.
- Install shoring and bracing.
- Select, measure, and cut materials.
- Demonstrate proper use of shop power tools.
- Read and interpret advanced blueprints.
- Erect and disassemble commercial scaffolding.
- Fabricate and install job-built scaffolding.
- Wear a respirator as needed (blood pressure no higher than 150/90).
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements.
- Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools.
- Availability for shift work, if needed.
- Ability to support other crafts as requested.
- Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels).
- Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures.
- Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures.
- Ability to pass specific training and qualifications.
- Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening.
- Visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, manual dexterity, grasping, feeling, hearing, talking.
- Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus for long periods.
- Ability to read and write complex documents in English.
- Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.
