Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Supervises assigned crew members.
- Organizes the working crew and materials to accomplish work in an efficient manner.
- Participates in the training of linemen. Make sure that assigned crew members are given direction and training in those skills and knowledge required for their promotion to the next lineman’s classification.
- Appraises crewmembers’ performance.
- Makes judgment in deciding when and what additional personnel and equipment are needed to restore power.
- Ensures trucks, tools and work equipment assigned are properly used and kept in good working condition.
- Check job orders, etc., against job material requirements and make sure that materials and equipment are present at the job site when needed.
- Follows and enforces safety rules and regulations of the Co-op.
- Presents and participates in safety meeting as assigned.
- Maintains all records including time sheets, staking sheets, material accounting, vehicle mileage, service orders, meter readings, outage records, and other reports as required.
- Performs duties expected of a Journeyman Lineman as a “working” Crew Leader.
- Requires on-call work required for restoration of service to member-owners.
- Possesses knowledge about policies, rates, and service rules and regulations.
- Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as requested or directed.
