Job Title: Substitute School Nurse
Location: Enfield Public Schools, Enfield, CT
Job Summary: Enfield Public Schools is seeking dedicated and qualified substitute school nurses to provide nursing services to students in grades preK-12 on a per diem/as-needed basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care to students, ensuring their health and well-being.
- Administer first aid and emergency care as needed.
- Manage and dispense medications according to school policies.
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation.
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to support student health needs.
- Promote a healthy and safe school environment.
Requirements:
- Valid Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Minimum of two years of experience in acute care, emergency room (ER), or pediatric nursing.
- Previous experience in school nursing or as a substitute school nurse is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within established guidelines.
- Strong assessment and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
- Proficiency with computer programs and electronic health records.
Compensation:
- Daily rate of $300.
- Half-day rate of $150.
- $350 per day after 10 consecutive days of work.
