The job responsibilities for the IT Director include:
- Review IT Infrastructure: Assess current platforms, support, and critical IT needs.
- Create Blueprint and Strategy: Develop and execute an IT strategy and tool-based plan.
- Automation: Collaborate with clients and vendors to drive automation of processes and tools.
- Set SMART Goals: Establish and achieve SMART goals for IT systems.
- Oversee IT Deployment and Upgrades: Manage deployment and updates of IT hardware and software. Ensure timely software updates and task coordination to minimize downtime.
- Cybersecurity Strategy: Develop and implement strategies to eliminate security risks and vulnerabilities.
- Manage IT Help Desk: Oversee the IT support/help desk operations.
- Capacity Planning: Handle IT capacity planning and resource management.
- IT Staff Management: Manage outsourced IT staff and determine hiring needs.
- Financial Budgeting: Prepare and present financial budgets and proposals to executives.
- Vendor Management: Work with external vendors and advisors for IT solutions.
- Networking and Disaster Recovery: Manage networking, development, and disaster recovery processes.
- Cross-department Communication: Communicate with other departments during IT-related issues and ensure needs are handled in a timely manner.
Qualifications and Skills for the IT Director:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; advanced degree, ITIL, or CISSP preferred.
- Leadership Experience: Several years in IT roles, particularly in management or leadership positions.
- IT Management: Proven experience managing IT infrastructure and vendor relationships.
- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of IT systems, software development, and cybersecurity.
- Team Leadership & Strategy: Ability to lead teams, manage projects, and align IT strategies with business objectives.
- System Rollouts: Experience in building and rolling out interactive systems preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Project Management: Skilled in prioritizing tasks, documenting requirements, managing multiple projects, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Decision-Making: Ability to provide clarity in complex situations, facilitate decision-making, and guide investments.
