A midsize law firm is looking for an Application Specialist with 3 years of experience to join their IT team in their Garden City, NY office. This role involves providing in-person troubleshooting and training for legal assistants and attorneys. The ideal candidate must have prior law firm experience.
Work Schedule: Full-time, in-office.
Responsibilities:
- User Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for application-related inquiries from staff, ensuring timely and effective responses. Collaborate with the Help Desk team to differentiate technical issues from training-related ones.
- Diagnose and resolve application-related issues, escalating complex problems to senior IT staff when necessary.
- Maintain and update documentation of common issues and solutions for knowledge sharing within the team.
- Design and conduct hands-on training sessions for staff on key applications such as Windows 11, Litera Suite, Microsoft Office, Prolaw, Adobe Acrobat, Citrix Sharefile, Webex, Zoom, and more.
- Provide new employee training and ongoing support to improve staff proficiency with software tools. Create and maintain easy-to-understand training materials and guides to maximize software usage.
- Collaborate with the IT team to manage the installation, configuration, and regular updates of supported applications.
- Test new software releases and upgrades to ensure they are compatible and functional within the firm’s IT environment.
- Proactively suggest improvements to applications and training processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Work closely with attorneys, legal assistants, and other staff to understand their workflows and customize support accordingly.
- Build and maintain strong interdepartmental relationships to encourage open communication and gather feedback on IT needs and improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Litera, Adobe, iManage, and related applications.
- Experience with Prolaw or other legal case management software is strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, focusing on application deployment and maintenance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably within a legal or professional services environment.
- Proven experience in end-user training and application support.

Salary & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $130,000 - $150,000 annually, based on experience.
