EPIC team opportunity:
The Field Service Specialist is responsible for providing transportation for clients to eligible services such as their Doctor, Medical Provider, Dentist, Counselor, Mental Health Provider, Medical Case Management or Housing Case Manager appointments in a safe, secure, confidential, and professional manner. This is a client driven and rewarding position that requires adaptability, mobility, accessibility, and strong interpersonal skills.
The general focus of this position is the Northeast and Southeast Arkansas service region, with satellite offices located across the state located in Texarkana and Ft. Smith. EAC provides statewide coverage, and the Field Service Specialist will be required travel statewide. This position will work closely with EAC Prevention and Navigation staff, Arkansas Department of Health staff, community partners/agencies providing support services for clients, and peer CHW staff. The Field Service Representative and Coordinator will be a key liaison between Arkansas communities, clients/patients, program staff, and leadership.
Essential Functions
1. Communicate with Positive Miles dispatch regarding schedule progress and to receive instructions.
· Work closely with dispatch to confirm client pick-up order.
· Confirm that you have the correct pick-up and drop off address.
· Confirm if client need to complete transportation waiver.
2. Transport clients utilizing personal vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
· Map out driving routes ahead of time to determine to most expedient trip.
· Pick-up client from place and at the time as instructed.
· Follow all traffic laws and regulations
3. Complete daily vehicle pre-trip and post trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness.
- Ensure that vehicle has gas.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle interior and exterior.
- Ensure that tires are properly inflated.
4. Assist clients as needed to safely complete the transport.
- Ensure that client can safely exit vehicle at destination.
5. Accurately complete activity logs vehicle report.
- Complete mileage log at the end of each trip.
6. Maintain a professional image and attitude regarding clients, visitors and co-workers
- Establish rapport with client to ensure they are comfortable during transport
7. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Education: High school Diploma preferred
- Experience: 1 year driving experience preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to move without difficulty and able to travel in assigned area of service
· Cultural competency and awareness in dealing with diverse populations including community members, special populations, professionals, and people living with HIV
- A knowledge of community activities and familiarity with community stakeholders in the counties within this assigned region is required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
Requirements
- Must satisfactorily pass a background check (paid for by employer).
- Must be able to drive, have a valid driver’s license, (access to a vehicle and maintain automotive liability insurance).
- No more than 2 moving violations or 1 “at fault” accident with the past 3 years
- Understanding of and commitment to the EAC mission.
Work Environment
- Exposure to Hazards: potential for physical harm and exposure to communicable diseases and standard office and cleaning supplies.
- This position has access to and knowledge of extremely sensitive, private, and confidential materials. Ability to maintain the highest standard of confidentiality is required with zero tolerance.
