Job Summary
We are seeking a full-time legal assistant to join our law firm. This role would start with an emphasis on reception and build into a full legal assistant role as training progressed. We are a general practice law firm, mainly handling estate planning, real estate, and small business matters.
Duties
- Greet clients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and correspondence, directing inquiries to the appropriate attorney or other legal assistants.
- Assist attorneys with legal drafting, document preparation, and case management tasks.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and interviews for attorneys, ensuring efficient time management.
- Performing clerical duties such as data entry, scanning, and copying documents as needed.
- Assist with billing and time tracking for cases and clients.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Experience in legal drafting and document preparation is a plus.
- High attention to details and accuracy.
- Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
