Summary of Responsibilities:
The Quality Control Specialist reports directly to the General Superintendent and is responsible for the implementation and management of the Company’s Quality Control Program. The Quality Control Specialist provides guidance, leadership, and coordination in all areas of project quality. Percentage of travel: 50 – 55%
General Responsibilities:
- Uphold and represent all company values and ethics. Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the Company as well as clients.
- Develop project specific quality controls and metrics and own the quality control management program.
- Regularly create QCM reports to Project Management Teams and the General Superintendent to help facilitate and ensure quality control metrics are upheld.
- Communicates project issues on quality and progress to the General Superintendent and company Executives.
- Establishes effective working relationships with Superintendents, Project Management Teams, Executives, and Clients.
- Implements and oversees training of Superintendents on the Company’s Quality Control Program.
- Follow and promote all guidelines, policies, and procedures established by the Company.
Daily/Weekly Responsibilities:
- Conduct weekly site evaluations for local as well as out-of-town projects.
- Provide guidance for field operations on local, state, and industry standard quality regulations.
- Review PlanGrid daily to identify potential quality control related issues, address quality control metrics, and assure construction best practices are maintained.
- Issue QCM reports to Project Management Teams and the General Superintendent.
- Work with the Project Management Teams and the General Superintendent to develop and implement mitigations strategies, non-conformance reporting, and ensure overall compliance on specific QC action items.
- Observe work performed by subcontractors for proper installation and application of materials.
- Aids in the coordination and implementation of testing and commissioning work on projects.
- Conduct and prepare final punch list on an as needed basis.
Qualifications:
- Must maintain an in-depth knowledge of construction standards and best practices. Including knowledge of both site and vertical construction means and methods.
- Must have the ability to problem solve and determine solutions for project specific requirements.
- Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess methodical thought processing.
- Have a proven track record of effective verbal and written communication skills and have worked in team-oriented environments.
- Ability to travel as needed to jobsites across the country (licensed in 48 states).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and PlanGrid software.
- OSHA 30 Required
