Position Overview :
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team, specializing in banking and loan transactions, bankruptcy, real estate, and litigation.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain a calendar of case related deadlines.
- Accurately file court documents using knowledge of electronic filing platforms and electronic filing procedures.
- Determine and calendar case related deadlines using knowledge of federal, state, and local rules of procedure.
- Use knowledge of Word and Adobe to convert and clean up documents for use by attorneys and paralegals in real estate and commercial loan documentation matters.
- Prepare routine correspondence and legal documents.
- Coordinate with court staff and process servers to facilitate filings and service of process.
- Organize and maintain client files.
- Perform day to day administrative tasks such as reviewing and saving docket notifications, scheduling conference calls and meetings, and assisting with case related mailings.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of federal, state, and local rules of procedure.
- Assist with tracking attorney and paralegal CLE (Continuing Legal Education) and renewing attorney professional licenses and certifications.
- Uses NetDocs, Practice Master, Tabs, PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel, and other programs in preparation of correspondence, documents and / or presentations; efficiently creates charts, graphs, tables, and text slides; responsible for formatting consistency and accuracy on time-sensitive, high-profile documents.
- Enter time into TABS and assist in the billing process.
- Maintains filing systems; opens files, classifies, sorts, and files correspondence, records, media clips and other documents.
