The Position
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the divisions contracts, people, customer satisfaction, and financial goals including establishing budgets, managing relations between the client and the organization, and coordinating business development opportunities and strategies.
- Communicate collaboratively with diverse parties within and external to the organization
- Negotiate and influence others to understand and accept new concepts, practices and approaches.
- Respond to incoming requests for information and tasks
- Meet engineering contractual requirements, execute strategic business goals, and manage engineers and technicians
- Drive product strategy, create roadmaps, build efficiencies around engineering and development strategies
- Focus on the structuring and operation of the organization as a cohesive unit; the conceptualization and day-to-day management of simultaneous projects; delivering product designs to agreed specifications within time and budget constraints; and fostering innovative solutions to cater to internal and external customer needs.
- Demonstrate significant experience in leading the development of team through challenging technical aspects of product and technology development, career planning discussions, and setting strategic objectives
- Provides strategical direction of research, design, engineering, and development of new products or prototypes; analysis of competitive products, design approaches; validation of product proposals, and research of emerging technologies for potential application.
- Act as a technology leader who provides expert technical advice to business leaders on engineering-related issues
- Design and support the engineering roadmap and ensure timely implementation throughout the development life cycle
- Translate a business strategy into specific team objectives, breaking down organizational boundaries through collaboration, building strong relationships based on trust with all levels of employees, and a track record of personal engagement with other members of leadership.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual, and company regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices
Qualifications
Basic
- Technical background in electrical or mechanical engineering in areas such as electromagnetic systems, additive manufacturing, microelectronics, and/or autonomous systems.
- At least 8-10 years of combined experience of engineering, project management, business management, and business development.
- At least 5 years of team leadership experience
- At least 5 years of managing one or more programs providing complete cost, performance, and schedule oversight.
- At least 5 years of experience in defense contracting/working with Government customer to leverage existing relationships with industry partners and government customers in Huntsville, AL and elsewhere and to understand how to navigate funding sources
- Proven research experience
- Ability to manage multiple complex demands concurrently.
- Ability to gain internal consensus support; operate independently without supervision or feedback; conceive new and innovative ideas and solutions; predicting potential outcomes, and determine which alternative course of action to follow.
- Ability to establish positive, constructive relationships with technical and functional staff, managers, and peers within the Operation, Group, and across EngeniusMicro
- Proven leader with track record of success at leading and growing high-performing engineering teams, ideally experience as a member of the executive management team.
- Capability to conduct business capture activities to sustain year-over-year growth goals
- Ability to communicate with executive leadership regarding matters of significant importance to the organization

- BA/BS degree in Business, Computer Sciences, Engineering, or related field
- The ability to obtain/maintain a final Secret DoD clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
Preferred
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration.
- PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications
