This group maintains the cabling, controls network, metering, piping, pumping, substation, tunnel and vault systems that comprise the distribution systems. You will also focus on inventory tracking and procurement, and management of various assets and processes supporting operations, using a variety of computer programs.
Hourly Range: $21.00 – $27.00 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

As the Distribution Intern, you will support the operations team that provides distribution of chilled water, electricity, steam and water to The University of Iowa. This group maintains the cabling, controls network, metering, piping, pumping, substation, tunnel and vault systems that comprise the distribution systems. You will also focus on inventory tracking and procurement, and management of various assets and processes supporting operations, using a variety of computer programs.
- Independently identify maintenance needs in distribution systems and coordinate with the Utilities Distribution Planner to develop Corrective Work Orders
- Develop and maintain performance results and analyses of distribution systems, helping to identify, document, and track maintenance needs while keeping accurate records
- Maintain equipment inventory databases under the guidance of Distribution management and planning staff, using spreadsheets, databases, CMMS, or ArcGIS as appropriate
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field
- A proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy
- Interns must be enrolled students in good standing at the commencement of the intern semester
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
