What are the responsibilities and job description for the BI Analyst position at Engine and Transmission Exchange?
We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to help lead ETE REMAN’s data and reporting initiatives. In this role you'll turn raw data into actionable insights that help drive strategic decisions, improve margins, and increase operational efficiency across the company.
You will play a critical role in building our data culture by creating robust data models, maintaining clean data governance, and delivering dashboards and visualizations that empower teams from the warehouse to the boardroom. Your work will directly influence pricing, product strategies, operational improvements, and customer insights.
Strategic Data Leadership
- Lead initiatives to build scalable data models and pipelines for deeper business analysis
- Proactively identify data opportunities to drive improvements in margins, operations, and decision-making
- Collaborate across departments (Finance, Operations, Sales, Product, etc.) to align on reporting priorities and data strategy
Reporting & Visualization
- Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reports in Power BI and Excel to support business functions and executive leadership
- Provide detailed competitive pricing, market, and product analysis
- Translate complex data into clear, compelling visual stories for stakeholders
Governance & Data Quality
- Establish and enforce data governance standards, procedures, and policies
- Audit data sources regularly for accuracy, integrity, and completeness
- Champion data literacy and best practices across the organization
Operational Insights & Efficiency
- Analyze product, customer, and operational data to identify inefficiencies, gaps, or high-impact opportunities
- Work closely with production, inventory, and finance teams to surface actionable insights
- Build tools and templates to automate recurring reporting tasks

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, BI Analyst, or similar role
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
- Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and basic SQL
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and manage competing priorities
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Automotive or aftermarket manufacturing experience
- Proficiency with SQL, Power BI, and data warehousing tools
- Experience creating and maintaining data governance frameworks
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
