What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hard Parts Inspector position at Engine & Transmission?
Job Overview:
As a Hard Parts Inspector, you play a big part of the team in providing parts, service and goods to other team members. This is key and very important in the remanufacturing process of transmissions. Your day will be spent inspecting, approving and maintaining quality standards of incoming materials, matching and verifying deliveries with purchase orders and addressing any discrepancies to ensure daily demands are met and processes run smoothly within the department.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Manager or Supervisor when needed, advise them of all inventory problems
- Learn how to use a variety of quality tools, conduct measurements and visual inspections
- Reject unacceptable material, document findings, and verify quantities & parts received
- Be prepared for scheduled and impromptu meetings, be able to work as a team
- Assist others within the department, train new personnel and work overtime when needed
- Follow directions from team leads, supervisors and managers, be proactive
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment, be at your workstation on time daily

Essential Functions:
- Computer literate, good communication, excellent math skills and able to work with Excel
- Must be 18 years old, high school diploma, and detail oriented
- Willingness and understanding you will get dirty at times, and may have to work with chemicals
- Skill of working with your hands, tools (must provide your own) and other instruments
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand & work on your feet for 8 hours a day and under pressure at times
- Have a Can-Do Attitude, with good time management, communication and decision-making skills
- Self-starting and motivated; believe in teamwork and uphold the ability to always help others
