What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Analyst position at Engine & Transmission?
Job Overview:
As an Inventory Analyst, you will leverage data and reporting to identify trends and drive continuous improvement across our inventory network. A successful individual will effectively identify systemic root causes to issues, and drive process development and improvement across our supply chain. Attention to detail and an active problem-solving mindset are key.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct all activities in a safe manner; lead by example and promote a positive safety culture.
- Become a subject matter expert in all inventory-related transactions and procedures throughout the remanufacturing process, including part/core setup, receiving, movements, transfers, put-away, issuing to lines, consumption and cycle counting.
- Analyze inventory and production data to identify trends, potential issues and opportunities for improvement in BOM accuracy and utilization.
- Develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders including Materials, Operations, Finance, Systems, Engineering and Customer Service.
- Use inventory management software to generate reports and track performance metrics, including key performance indicators (KPIs) for inventory control and supply continuity. Leverage these insights with the team to improve the operation’s overall performance.
- Provide insights into the demand and supply chain process to optimize stock levels and minimize parts stockouts or excess inventory.
- Support cycle count issue / root cause resolutions throughout all facilities.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements to improve best practices for inventory control and supply chain operations.
- Prepare and present reports on inventory performance, stock levels, and variance analysis to management.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, supply chain operations, or manufacturing environment. Prior experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with business intelligence technology (such as Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- APICS CPIM certification or similar is preferred.
Working Conditions
This position is primarily located in our manufacturing facility. At the manufacturing facility, you will be exposed to a variety of smells and sounds associated with the manufacturing process. Eye, shoe and ear protection is required when you go on the manufacturing floor.
