Job Overview:
The product engineering manager is a key member of the ETE engineering group. The role will proactively collaborate with the engineering, business intelligence, and sales teams to improve and expand our product offerings. The manager will oversee the engineering team responsible for researching and developing new product offerings. The role will focus on improving key metrics including safety, quality, labor, and cost.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and mentor a team of engineers and engineering technicians, ensuring effective resource allocation and professional development.
- Design and create BOMs during the product remanufacturing planning stage.
- Ensure BOMs reflect current parts availability and process requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering activities to company goals and objectives.
- Oversee reverse engineering processes and validate findings.
- Lead technical assessments to improve product reliability, performance, and cost effectiveness.
- Identify opportunities to improve product design by investigation of common field failures
- Collaborate with quality and machining engineering teams to develop reclamation processes to reduce material costs and correct inherent design failures.
- Work closely with quality team to address root cause of product defects and assist in implementation of corrective actions.
- Create project timelines for new product development and report status to engineering team and company leadership.
- Provide technical support to customers and address product-related inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an engineering role; automotive remanufacturing preferred
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understand operational theory of automatic transmissions.
- Experience with assembly of complex hydraulic/mechanical assemblies.
- Must possess solid mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and planning skills with the ability to multi-task
- Must be extremely flexible regarding priority changes.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of automotive automatic transmissions and remanufacturing processes.
- Familiar with hydraulic systems and electronics used in modern automatic transmissions.
- Experience with building and maintaining product BOMs for remanufacturing.
