Engine is seeking a highly-skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls and best practices for our cloud infrastructure and applications. You will work closely with senior leadership and fellow employees to ensure that Engine adheres to best practices in cloud security.
Your Mission:
As part of the Engine team, you'll play a vital role in an environment where innovation meets collaboration. Here's what you'll take charge of:
- Design and implement robust security infrastructure and network architectures and controls for cloud environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards like SOC 2, CIS, and PCI.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate security best practices into the cloud infrastructure CI/CD pipeline to enhance security, reliability, and availability.
- Perform security assessments and threat modeling on cloud infrastructure, networks, applications, and services to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities and security risks.
- Participate in the design and implementation of secure architectures, frameworks, and tooling for cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and events, coordinating with incident response teams and implementing appropriate remediation measures.
- Develop and maintain cloud security policies, standards, and guidelines, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and organizational requirements.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices, and provide guidance and training to cross-functional teams.
We're looking for someone who's ready to make an impact and grow alongside us:
- Fluency in one or more programming or scripting languages and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Proven expertise in cloud security and network engineering using AWS.
- In-depth understanding of cloud security principles, architectures, and best practices (e.g., Shared Responsibility Model, Secure DevOps, and Zero Trust).
- Hands-on experience with cloud security and monitoring tools and technologies such as SIEM, Cloudflare, Wiz, Orca, AWS Audit Manager, Cloudtrail, GuardDuty, and Inspector.
- Experience implementing security automation within CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and experience with automated container vulnerability management.
- Strong knowledge of security concepts, including risk management, identity and access management (IAM), key management, data protection, and network security.
- Knowledge of secure software development practices and application security testing methodologies.
- Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty and CISSP.
- Experience with meeting compliance requirements such as SOC 2 and PCI.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, engineering, and IT teams.
