Job Summary:
This co-op position offers students hands-on experience in a fast-paced design engineering environment, providing the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for a future engineering career by solving design and engineering problems alongside a team of experienced engineers. This role is involved in designing and optimizing a wide range of manufactured products, supporting production implementation, and contributing to the creation of new, high-quality products used in the fire protection industry.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Work on design projectssupporting the Engineering team’s efforts in new productdevelopment and sustaining engineering of existing product lines
- Design and build prototypes, test fixtures, and other assemblies as necessary

Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Strong abilityto use power tools and hand tools to build/modify production fixtures to support objectives
- Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills. Able to understand complex issues and provide appropriate, effective solutions
- Understandingof CAD fundamentals
- Must have the abilityto effectively handlemultiple tight timelinesituations
- Flexible and a strong willingness to adapt and be an advocate for change
- Ability to work throughmultiple obstacles to complete daily tasks
- Exceptional communication skills,both written and verbal
Education and Experience:
- Actively enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree program in an engineering discipline from an accredited institution
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- While performing the duties of this job in the Plant or Warehouse, the employee can be exposed to noise. The noise level is usually moderate. Must have reliable means of transportation.
- This is an in-office positionrequiring regular workinghours at ECS headquarters.
- Frequently required to remain in a stationary position, often standingor sitting for prolonged periods at a desk or work bench and working using a computer.
- Use a computer keyboardwith mouse for long periodsof time
