Job Summary:
An Electronics Engineer II at Engineered Corrosion Solutions (ECS) is a member of the product development team and will participate in the creation of cutting-edge products for the fire protection industry. The role has a strong electrical focus with additional software capabilities – a successful candidate will be a member of the team taking responsibility for electrical, PCBA, and controls design for the full suite of ECS products. They will apply their knowledge of the principles of electrical and systems engineering to create electrical system designs and will have experience with the process of integrating hardware and software to create functional products.
This position involves working in a dynamic small-team environment on projects where excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Analyze and translate requirements into electrical systems architecture, hardware and software designs, and interface specifications.
- Generate documentation such as electrical schematics, PCBA designs, technical communications, reports, meeting notes, change management, and other relevant technical documentation.
- Follow appropriate design practices and departmental procedures for design control and regulatory compliance.
- Test and validate designs to ensure systems meet operational and functional requirements.
- Design, review, and check product Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and test procedures for implementation into Manufacturing.
- Work cross-functionally with internal departments to accomplish design projects and implement them into manufacturing.
- Interface with external contractors on any outsourced design or testing activities.
- Coordinate or perform PCB prototype construction, track project progress and reports status and projected timelines to management.
- Support supplier development, test and production activities, and coordinate with suppliers to optimize designs.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
- Work primarily conducted in a standard office environment.
- Ability to maneuver and lift objects up to 50 pounds may be required.
- Frequent hand-eye coordination is necessary for operating keyboards and related office equipment.
Travel:
- Travel may occasionally be required to a test site.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5 years minimum experience with electrical systems (AC & DC) and embedded system design, testing of electronic circuitry, and bringing designs into production.
- Experience with embedded system PCB domains, including embedded microprocessors, basic analog and digital design, and sensor interfaces.
- Experience with schematic design, EMC, analysis, simulation, debugging, and PCB layout.
- Experience with KiCAD, Altium, Orcad, or similar Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software.
- Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes (e.g. ICT, AOI, DFM solder processes, etc)
- Comfortable working in a team environment or as an individual contributor.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Great interpersonal skills and a knack for solving complex problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with line-voltage equipment circuit design
- Experience with design for EMI/EMC, UL, and CE.
