What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preconstruction Manager position at Engineered Facades?
Position Summary:
The Pre-Construction Manager position at Engineered Facades reports directly to the VP of Sales. The primary responsibility for the Pre-Construction Manager is to develop proposed pricing and scope letters for project bids. Key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Review project bid searches and invitations
- Gather and evaluate bid documents
- Request preliminary project schedules
- Execute relationship building plans for strategic accounts
- Prepare square foot budget prices for contractors
- Gather and evaluate vendor, labor and equipment quotations
- Verify and document vendor pricing
- Develop and prepare scope letters and price proposals
- Prepare and enter detailed takeoffs
- Prepare and review lump sum pricing
- Assist with closing activities
- Complete job file organization and historical data entry
- Set up project files and summary documents, turnover job files that are won/lost, etc.
- Maintain security over electronic and physical files
- Attend company meetings as necessary
- Other duties as assigned

- Exceed department level planned quotation dollars
- Exceed department level planned booked order contribution margin
- Exceed department level planned booked orders
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required in Building Construction Management, Drafting, Engineering or related field.
- Experience in estimating in the construction industry or related field.
- Punctuality and reliability are essential; courteous and professional demeanor required
- Ability to read and understand construction documents to perform accurate quantity takeoffs
- Proficiency to clearly request vendor pricing and fully understand application of those products
- Demonstrated knowledge of and capability to estimate for construction trades
- Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and be self-motivated
- Excellent written, communication and presentation skills
- Knowledge and experience using electronic estimating software
- Develop and submit proposals and responses to RFP’s
- Proficient in all components of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
