Areas Of Responsibilities
The Reliability Engineer is responsible for overseeing equipment performance analysis, managing reliability improvement initiatives, and optimizing maintenance strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime. This role involves driving system and process improvements, ensuring alignment with manufacturing capabilities, and fostering cross-departmental collaboration to achieve reliability goals. The Reliability Engineer will work closely with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to develop data-driven solutions, implement a robust Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, and support continuous improvement efforts across the facility.
Skills And Abilities
This role is a blend of time spent on the production floor and in an office setting. Time on the floor will involve evaluating equipment, observing operations, and gathering data, while office time will focus on analyzing data, monitoring equipment performance, and developing reports. Occasional travel may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires a combination of desk-based work and time spent in an industrial environment. While in the office, the role involves extended periods of sitting and computer work. On the production floor, it may require walking, standing, and navigating around equipment. Good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina are necessary, though heavy lifting is not a regular requirement.

Skills And Abilities
- Gather and analyze raw data from equipment, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Track and report on equipment failures, providing insights to reduce unplanned downtime and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to create and refine preventative maintenance schedules based on data-driven insights.
- Investigate recurring equipment failures, utilizing tools such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and fault tree analysis to recommend corrective actions.
- Propose and implement improvements in maintenance processes, equipment usage, and operational efficiencies.
- Support the adoption of predictive maintenance strategies by identifying key failure indicators and leveraging condition-monitoring technologies.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and track the effectiveness of reliability initiatives.
- Evaluate and refine maintenance work order processes to ensure proper documentation, prioritization, and execution.
- Educate maintenance and operations teams on best practices for equipment reliability and proactive maintenance strategies.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and documentation to support data-driven decision-making and compliance with industry standards.
- Partner with production, engineering, and leadership teams to align reliability initiatives with broader business objectives.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field) preferred.
- 3 years of experience in reliability, maintenance engineering, or a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, statistical analysis, and reporting.
- Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and predictive maintenance tools.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with various teams.
