Description
The Material Handler will be responsible for efficiently managing the movement and storage of materials within our facility. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a forklift and be capable of handling long steel beams, ensuring the smooth flow of materials to support our production processes. Shift is 12 hours Fri-Sun 5:30pm-5am. Will be paid for 40 hours.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials, including 10-20 ft steel beams, ensuring they are handled with care.
- Operate forklike in a populated warehouse with a key emphasis on safety.
- Load heavy steel onto flatbed trailers.
- Organize and manage inventory in the warehouse, ensuring accurate storage and retrieval of materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report any issues to management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Ability to comfortably lift and maneuver 10-20ft long steel beams and other heavy materials.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Previous experience in a material handling role is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, including steel beams up to 10-20 ft in length.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
