Responsibilities
Compliance Manager Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively & work collaboratively with the Safety Unit as well as key stakeholders to develop positive & professional working relationships with everyone the Safety Unit comes into contact with.
- Provide oversight to key safety unit functions.
- Develop, implement, and monitor safety programs that ensure a safe working environment for employees.
- Collaborate with division leaders to ensure the implementation of safety practices and continuous improvement in safety performance.
- Complete compliance audits on projects; in field inspections of compliance paperwork & job set up.
- Ensure site leadership understanding of 3 areas of emphasis.
- Ensure site leadership understands the Big 3 compliance documents and has a functional system to manage these systems.
- Ensure site leadership understands the 3 areas of focus for safe work: fall prevention and protection, electrocution/LOTO, and hand protection/caught between/struck by.
- Facilitate a drill of the project’s Emergency Response Plan.
- Travel to projects to conduct compliance audits – project start-up & as needed based on project needs or change in leadership.
- Follow up & ensure closeout of open EHS & PM audit items for active projects.
- Assist in management and elimination of OSHA and SWPPP compliance violations.
- Analyze data to increase business operational efficiency.
- Evaluate risk factors and environmental impacts, ensuring proactive measures are in place to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental violations.
- Identify opportunities to reduce risk and enhance operational safety.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall safety culture and environmental performance of the organization.
- Provide guidance and support to ensure EHS considerations are integrated into daily operations and long-term projects.
- Manage the ESI incident logs & ensure accurate trend analysis & communication of trends.
- Maintain records of safety incidents, investigations, AAR’s, corrective actions taken
- Analyze data to identify trends and patterns in incidents
- Assist with providing incident information for annual OSHA logs
- Open and manage worker compensation claims
- Facilitate communication of EHS reports (goal report, incident trends, safety audit reports)
- Manage Lessons Learned creation, and distribution
- Manage annual Safety Meeting creation and distribution
- Ensure SSSP is accurate and current
- Maintain Safety Cloud for accuracy
DOT Manager Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with U.S. DOT laws & registration; provide updates to motor vehicle policy to safety director and legal.
- Manage/Review DOT SMS Ratings and Reporting
- Compete FMCSA Annual Query Reports
- Assess each employee’s driver compliance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of vehicle assignments; and vehicle inspections, monitor compliance of vehicle and trailer markings.
- Facilitate & organize driver DOT Physical appointments, ensure payment to medical provider for DOT physicals.
- Ensure drug testing current for all driver’s required to complete drug testing
- Collect the necessary personal information from each driver.
- Obtain a driving record report for each employee assigned a company vehicle annually.
- Score each driver who has been assigned a vehicle based on their driving history record report; determine the risk of each driver’s score, based off their driving record report.
- Determine, assign & follow up on poor driver behavior corrective actions.
- Review driving record report & complete an Annual Review form with each driver annually.
- Ensure each driver has completed a driver’s application documenting at least 3 years of job history.
- Identify & complete road tests for specified drivers.
- Ensure each employee has signed the Vehicle Use Agreement.
- Collect specified driver mileage on a quarterly basis.
- Collect specified driver fuel cost/quantity information on a quarterly basis; generate report for specified drivers on driver mileage & fuel information quarterly and submit for fuel tax debit/credits.
- Ensure Driver Vehicle Log books (electronic and manual) are complete and accurate; monitor hours of service for those completing log books
- Develop and provide training on ESI driver training requirements.
- Maintain/ensure driver training and compliance for trailers and tow packages.
- Maximize identified avenues to reduce costs & maximize profits.
- Implement corrective actions for driver record infractions (defensive driving classes).
- Implement and develop communication with DOT Drivers
- Monitors google reviews for vehicle complaints, work with marketing to provide corrective response to google reviews.
SWPPP/Environmental Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach/train Boise Responsible Person class and ensure training certifications are logged into ESI data collection system.
- Monitors Storm water discharge permitting and oversight for construction sites.
- Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) review, and compliance
- Review erosion and sediment control drawings to ensure SWPP Plan and drawings are in alignment.
- Regulatory review and interpretation; Auditing of storm water BMP's.
- Coordination and direction of field inspection activities and review of site data.
- Attends project preconstruction meetings to resolve concerns/questions and to plan and coordinate project SWPPP Compliance.
- Provide divisional and team training to ensure compliance with SWPPP and additional compliance needs as needed on complex proposals and reports.
- Commits sufficient time to projects to complete work in a timely manner.
- Resolves all regulatory violations, reports and manages outside agency visits.
- Provide team leadership through training, mentoring, and compliance activities.
- Interface with all divisions to improve environmental compliance.
- Administer NOI/NOT Compliance permitting process in applicable regulatory systems
- Ensure SWPPP training requirements are communicated to teams
