Tooling Technician

Tooling Repair Engineer, Lebanon, Ky

2 Positions Available (1 first Shift , 1 second shift)

• Disassemble, clean, and reassemble dies, molds, jigs, fixtures, etc.
• Disassemble and troubleshoot die and mold quality issues.
• Have the ability to make judgment calls on tool repairs.
• Be proficient with operating tool room equipment such as lathes, mills, surface grinders, drill presses, etc., used to perform the required work.
• Read all measuring tools (mics, calipers, indicators, scales, height gages, etc.)

Ensure that all molds operate at maximum potential, Ability to self-manage time and complete projects efficiently, Responsible for set up and operation of lathes, milling machines and surface grinders. Disassemble and assemble molds, analyzes basic mold problems including flashing conditions, galling, cooling problems, venting, etc.

Compute time and materials quotes as requested, Complete engineering changes and revisions to injection molds, Repair injection mold cavities and cores due to damage or wear, Stone and polish mold components of many materials to a high finish, Troubleshoot and identify tooling issues at the press as needed, Responsible for accurate completion of mold repair sheets and any other applicable paperwork, Observes all safety requirements and maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience in tool repair/die field.
