What are the responsibilities and job description for the AEGIS BMD Project Engineer position at ENGINEERING SERVICES NETWORK, Inc.?
Duties:
Perform duties as a Shipboard Project Engineer (SPE) supporting Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD) Test & Evaluation (T&E) events. These events may include Aegis BMD SM-3 flight missions, Long Range Surveillance and Track (LRS&T) testing, interoperability with Ground Based Mid-course Defense (GMD) and other BMD data collection efforts. This position is responsible for providing expertise in technical assessment and systems integration to accomplish Aegis BMD T&E objectives in support of the Aegis BMD Program Directorate and Missile Defense Agency(MDA). The Project Engineer also assists the Project Officer in team leadership and project management for all test activities on their assigned ship. Support milestone meetings (Mission Readiness Review, Mission Execution Review). Specific duties will include but are not limited to:
1) Plan and schedule resources for test events that include personnel, funding, shore based equipment support, and ships;
2) Assess and address Combat System equipment and crew readiness to execute the test plan through technical leadership of required T&E installations, readiness assessment, integration and rehearsals;
3) Investigate and resolve T&E issues and ensure successful resolution of issues through shore site testing and appropriate shipboard verifications;
4) Prepare and present detailed plans, assessments and reports;
5) Review applicable documentation and provide sound engineering feedback on briefings and technical papers.
Qualification/Education:
This position requires ten years (collective) experience with Aegis Combat System operation and maintenance, Ballistic Missile Defense, Link interoperability, and Test & Evaluation. Must have U.S. Navy certification in a Fire Control Navy Enlisted Code (NEC) related to the AEGIS Combat System. Best candidate would be a retired Aegis sailor at the E8 or E9 level, Combat Systems Maintenance Manager (CSMM), or Limited Duty Officer (LDO).
Must possess a SECRET DoD Security Clearance on date of hire
Skills/Abilities:
Candidate must be able to independently plan, manage and accomplish complex technical project assignments and must be familiar with shipboard protocol and procedures. Should possess excellent verbal communications skills and know how to orchestrate job tasks between multiple group organizations.
Salary : $115,000 - $120,000
