Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Project Manager to lead environmental compliance efforts across our telecommunications projects. This role involves conducting environmental assessments and overseeing all phases of environmental services throughout project lifecycles. As a key leader within the Regulatory Team, this role is responsible for shaping and implementing best-in-class environmental strategies that align with federal, state, local, and industry regulations and company goals.
This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring our projects uphold environmental integrity, advising executive leadership, mentoring team members, and driving success with environmental services. The Environmental Project Manager will work cross-functionally with clients, vendors, internal teams, and regulatory bodies to complete and/or oversee the services needed, maintain compliance, and enhance our company’s reputation as an industry leader in Regulatory and Environmental Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead environmental management initiatives, overseeing the development, planning, and implementation of services, guiding projects toward successful outcomes and fostering continuous improvements while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local environmental laws.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Leadership and Clients by monitoring and analyzing evolving environmental regulations, offering guidance on regulatory changes, improving environmental practices, proactively updating company practices, and advising on compliance strategies.
- Function as a liaison with clients, local planning authorities, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders.
- Develops environmental documents, reports, and technical studies in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including compliance with ASTM and NEPA requirements.
- Conducts field investigations, site assessments, and compliance monitoring as needed.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and other field staff, overseeing all field work, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis. This requires site visits as needed.
- Manages multiple projects, ensuring all tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Identifying and managing project hurdles and mitigating risks/issues.
- Oversees and ensures quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) measures for project deliverables.
- Ensure accurate and timely project invoicing.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Environmental and Regulatory team members, fostering professional growth and knowledge-sharing within the department.
- Spearhead internal training programs, equipping project teams with the knowledge needed to maintain compliance and implement the best environmental practices.
- Representing EWS at industry conferences, professional organizations, and regulatory meetings, reinforcing our company’s presence and expertise in environmental telecom compliance.
- Requires periodic day and overnight travel.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental project management, regulatory compliance, or equivalent environmental roles, with a strong focus in wireless telecommunications or new construction.
- In-depth knowledge of FCC environmental regulations, NEPA, NHPA (including Section 106), ESA, and other applicable federal, state, and local environmental laws.
- Experience conducting Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), soil and groundwater investigations, and NEPA assessments.
- Preferred experience in environmental abatement, as well as conducting bird surveys to assess and mitigate impacts on wildlife, ensuring regulatory compliance.
Certifications:
- Certified Environmental Professional (CEP) or Registered Environmental Professional (REP) preferred. Candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered that are capable and willing to complete a certification within 60 days of hire. *
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification or willingness to obtain within 60 days of hire. *
- Licensed/Certified Asbestos Inspector preferred, but experience in asbestos assessments will be considered.
- Certified Professional Biologist (CPB), ESA certification, or any related qualifications are preferred. However, experience with biological assessments will be considered an advantage.
*Certification obtained after hire will be paid for by the company upon a fully executed training agreement. Continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining/holding proper certifications necessary for scope of work.
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
