OVERVIEW AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Join CBS Texas as we look for a creative writer / producer to help grow our news brand through innovative and effective marketing. The ideal candidate is someone who believes local journalism exists to make their communities a better place to live. The Writer / Producer wants to offer hope and solutions when times are tough and celebrate the greatness that makes us choose this place that we call home.
We are searching for someone who thrives on generating daily brand marketing on both linear and digital platforms. With a focus on driving engagement and viewership, you will create daily marketing messages that help grow our brand. We are looking for a person who is a great collaborator as they will be working with our news team and all levels of staff. The Writer / Producer will report to the Promotion Manager and will work with a small team of producers and designers searching for the best opportunities to market the news product and our brand differentiators every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO :
- Write, produce, and edit daily marketing messages that help grow our brand
- Assist with field / location production
- Work directly with reporters and anchors to authentically market the content of our news products
- Attend / contribute to daily news planning meetings on-site and remotely
- Generate and post creative social media messaging and OTT marketing daily to drive viewership to our newscasts
- Assist with other department projects including brand development and content creation
- Assist with station community events and activations
