Required

The Client Solutions Manager in the Geospatial Technologies Department will be at the forefront of providing consulting and cutting-edge solutions to internal and external clients. They will also be the subject matter experts and focus on technical training of GST’s internal staff. As an expert in GIS (Geographical Information System) and related geospatial technologies, this role is pivotal in consulting, training, business development, and implementation of innovative solutions for both internal and external clientele. The ideal candidate possesses a strong blend of technical proficiency, communication skills, and business acumen. The following skills will be required for this position:

  • Expertise in GIS and asset management tools and methodologies.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong project management skills, with an emphasis on timely delivery and budget adherence.
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships, both internally and with external partners.
  • Aptitude for business development and understanding market dynamics.
  • Effective communication skills, allowing for clear articulation of complex geospatial concepts.
  • Embodies the ‘ETM Way’ in both their personal and professional lives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, geographic information systems (GIS), engineering, computer science or related field and a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in GIS applications
  • GIS Professional (GISP) Certificate and/or Professional Project Management training.
  • Experience in a primary client facing role for a minimum of (2) years
  • Master’s degree in geography, geographic information systems (GIS), engineering, computer science or related field is preferred.

Specific Duties

GIS Consulting:

  • Assess the geospatial needs and challenges of internal and external clients.
  • Provide expert recommendations and solutions to clients
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in the field of geospatial technologies to ensure the provision of cutting-edge advice.
  • Be the lead consultant/project manager on assigned projects

Training

  • Design, develop, and deliver GIS training programs for current staff to enhance their geospatial skill set.
  • Provide one-on-one training sessions or workshops as required.
  • Help ensure the staff is proficient in the latest geospatial and asset management tools, software, and methodologies.

Business Development

  • Identify, cultivate, and secure new business opportunities in the realm of geospatial technologies.
  • Collaborate with other business development staff on events and speaking opportunities.
  • Engage in networking events, seminars, and conferences to promote the company's geospatial solutions and establish industry relationships.
  • Maintain and enhance key business partnerships, as assigned
  • Develop SOW and contracts as required

Identifying & Implementing New Solutions

  • Identify, development, and implement new geospatial solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Collaborate with other GIS staff to integrate new technologies and tools into the operations team

Client Relationship Management

  • As assigned, serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external clients seeking geospatial solutions
  • As assigned, check in with clients to ensure client success and determine further business opportunities
  • Understand client requirements, anticipate future needs, and strive to exceed client expectations.
  • Resolve any issues or concerns related to the geospatial services offered, ensuring client satisfaction.

Collaboration And Teamwork

  • Work closely with other departments and stakeholders to ensure alignment and cohesion in the company's geospatial endeavors.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Reporting And Documentation

  • Maintain detailed records of all geospatial projects, including client interactions, solutions provided, and outcomes achieved.
  • Provide regular updates to director and senior management regarding the progress and results of geospatial initiatives.

Software/Scripting

  • ArcGIS Pro
  • ArcGIS Online and Portal for ArcGIS
  • Cartegraph Asset Management experience is a plus
  • AutoCAD 20xx Civil 3D experience is a plus
  • ArcGIS Workflow Manager experience is a plus
  • ArcGIS Data Reviewer experience is a plus
  • Python, Arcade, Java, and JavaScript is a plus
  • SQL is a plus
